The steps below will create a secure virtual private network (VPN) connection back to Appalachian State University's network.


Requirements:
  • Only App State Faculty or Staff who have requested permission can use this service. Submit a Ticket to request permission.
  • iOS Device (iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch)
  • The Ivanti (formerly Pulse Secure) App (available in the iTunes App Store)
  • An Internet Connection

After installing the Pulse Secure application on the iOS device:

  1. Tap the Ivanti App (formerly Pulse Secure)


     
  2. Tap on Enable Ivanti Secure Access.

     


  3. Tap on the > icon to add your ASUVPN connection.


     

  1. Enter ASUVPN for the name and asuvpn.appstate.edu for the URL, then tap Save.



     

  2. You can now simply tap on Connect to start your asuvpn connection.



     

  3. Enter your AppState Credentials to Log In.

    Note: DO NOT put the @appstate.edu in the username field. Also, if this is the first time you have EVER used the asuVPN system (on your mobile device or computer). You may need to change your password if you are unable to login. 

After signing in, you are now tunneled into the Appalachian State University network. You will now be able to access any internal services via your phone as long as your are connected.

Please remember to log out after completing your work. You will be held responsible for any damages or service outages caused by you, your device or account while using this service.
