Faculty, staff, and students can access LinkedIn Learning from any computer, device, or tablet.

Follow the steps to Setup an Account. See our article on Signing in to your Account on the four ways you can access your account after activation.

No. LinkedIn profiles are not needed to access LinkedIn Learning. You can choose whether or not to connect your LinkedIn profile with your App State LinkedIn Learning Account.

While connecting your LinkedIn profile is not required it will allow for a more personalized learning experience, which includes special course recommendations based on your job title, skills, and industry listed on your LinkedIn profile. Learn how to connect your LinkedIn profile to LinkedIn Learning.

  1. Click the “Me” icon on the top right of your LinkedIn Learning account
  2. In the drop-down list, click “Settings
  3. At the bottom of the page, click “Connect my account

Learning activities such as courses viewed or completed, profile information like your name, work title, and profile photo, and any courses from your personal account that you’ve transferred to your group account can be viewed by App State.

App State will not have access to your connections, private messages, any job search activity such as job posts you’ve viewed, or any learning courses you may have viewed using your personal account.

Yes. Download the LinkedIn Learning app for Apple (App Store) or Android (Google Play) devices. Enter your username@appstate.edu. Follow additional instructions.
Note: Using the mobile option is a little different and has the option to turn the courses to “audio-only” via a toggle within each course.

Yes, students can access LinkedIn Learning using the same methods as above.

There are 3 libraries (covering a broad range of topics) foundational content, resources, tools, and courses in:

  • Business - Business analogy and strategy guides, software tools for data analysis and visualization, career development resources, customer service management, and service metrics
  • Technology - Rendering and 3D modeling, drawing, music production, motion graphics and VFX, photography, UX design, UI prototyping, web design
  • Creative - Machine Learning, artificial intelligence foundations, data science, database management, DevOps foundations, Client Operating Systems, Help Desk Skills, iOS Development, network administration, server administration, security, software development tools

LinkedIn Learning also hosts a variety of guides, evaluation tools, and courses for software like

  • Google Workspace products
  • Microsoft Suite products
  • Blender
  • Photoshop
  • Unity
  • InDesign
  • Final Cut Pro
  • Python

  • WordPress
  • PowerBI

Sign in to your account and click the Browse icon to see Role Guides, Topics, Software, and Learning Paths related to each topic. Click on a role to reveal top courses, skills, learning paths, community connections, and certification courses tailored to that role.

Set a role as a career goal at the top of the dashboard page to personalize your experience.



To see top skills, collections, and content from App State:

Click on App State under Browse in the sidebar:

To see App State content that you have saved to your collections, or that has been assigned to you or recommended to you by App State:

  1. Click the App State logo at the top navigation bar next to your profile picture. 
  2. Find assigned and recommended App State content from the links in the left sidebar menu.

You can save courses or videos you're interested in by clicking Save.

The Save icon can be found:

  • If you move your cursor over any course recommended on your LinkedIn Learning homepage
  • To the right of a course title in your LinkedIn Learning search results list
  • At the top of the player window on any course page
  • In the table of contents for any course

Note: There's no limit to the number of courses you can save or complete.

You can access your saved courses from the Saved page. To access the Saved page:

  1. Click on your profile picture.
  2. Click My Library (you can also find My Library in the left sidebar of the main dashboard page.
  3. Then click on Saved.

LinkedIn Learning offers on-demand courses to help individuals prepare for professional certification exams and earn continuing education units (CEUs).

There are two ways you can access your course completion certificates.

Option 1

  1. Once you have finished a course, navigate to the course page under the Overview tab to Certificates on the right. Click Show all.
  2. Click LinkedIn Learning Certificate in the popup window.
  3. Click Download PDF.

Option 2

  1.  Navigate to My Library in the top menu navigation inside LinkedIn Learning.
  2. Click on Learning History in the left sidebar of the screen to see your completed courses. Select the three dots by the course you want to download a certificate.
  3. Select Download Certificate.
  4. Click Download PDF.

Yes. You can add your certificates of completion to the certificate section of your LinkedIn profile to showcase your new skills. Learn more about how to add your certificates.

There are a few ways to see the new courses that are added:

  1. You can subscribe to the LinkedIn Learning blog. Every Monday an article will be sent to that lists the new course titles added that week.
  2. Your LinkedIn Learning homepage content recommendations will show you the newest and most popular courses.
  3. If you’re searching for a particular topic using the search bar, once you’ve done a search click on the sort by drop-down at the top right and click newest and it will show you the newest courses on that topic first.

LinkedIn Learning is an online educational platform that provides access to more than 21,000+ online courses on a variety of important professional development topics.

Yes, you may receive e-mails from LinkedIn Learning about:

  • Course Recommendations
  • Suggestions based on your activity
  • Updates on content and instructors you follow
  • Reminders about in-progress or saved content, learning goals, and upcoming deadlines.

You can modify the e-mail notifications in your LinkedIn Learning account settings.

These emails serve as a reminder to track your Learning goals. However, if you don’t want to receive them, you can unsubscribe from receiving them directly from your Learning account

Note: you can’t re-subscribe if you change your mind.

To unsubscribe from LinkedIn Learning emails:

  1. Click Me on the upper right corner of your LinkedIn Learning homepage.
  2. Select Settings from the dropdown.
  3. From the Email Subscriptions section of the Manage Your Account page, click Unsubscribe from the subscriptions you no longer wish to receive.
  4. Click Unsubscribe in the confirmation pop-up window that appears.

Note: It may take 24 hours for this change to reflect in your inbox.
