To Set Up the Screen Share

  1. Make sure both your Macbook and Apple TV are connected to the network.
  2. Enable AirPlay on Apple TV.
  3. Open AirPlay on MacBook.
  4. Select your Apple TV, and if prompted, enter the AirPlay code.
  5. Adjust Display settings to choose between mirroring your display or using the TV as a separate display.

Resolving Apple Laptop Screen Sharing Issues to AppleTV

  1. In your applications folder, run Admin By Request (ABR) to gain admin access. It is the circle with the check mark at the top-right of the display.

    You must run ABR when making changes or installing software. Installations made from within Self Service do not require using ABR.

    Open Admin By Request.

  2.  Click Yes to start an Admin session.
    Click yes to start an admin session.

  3. Type the reason you need admin permission, then click ok. A 15-minute timer will begin.
    Type in the reason you need permissions and click OK.

How to Disable the Cisco Extensions causing the issue with Screen Sharing to AppleTV

  1.  Click on the Apple icon in the top-left of the display and select System Settings.
    Open System Settings on your Mac.

  2. Enter Extens in the System Settings search bar to locate Extensions.
    Search for Extensions in the search bar.

  3.  Select Extensions in the left sidebar and then click on the i (information icon) to the right of Network Extensions.
    Select the information icon in the Extensions menu.

  4. Click on the blue slider to disable the extension(s) found here for Cisco.
    Blue is enabled.
    Disable extensions.

    Grey is disabled.


  5. After disabling the extensions, you can try screen sharing, but you might have to reboot the computer.
