Employees receive an invitation for in-person new employee orientation from [email protected] notifying them of the date, time, location, and parking instructions. Managers are copied on the invitation and encouraged to attend orientation to learn more about the important role they play in supporting the new employee's onboarding process beyond the orientation session.

I-9 Verification and Employee Self-Service Forms

Please refer to your New Hire Appointment Letter for all the information about completing your I9 verification through Equifax. Section 1 of Form 1-9 must be completed by or on your first day of work, and Section 2 of Form I-9 must be completed by your third day of employment. This is a federal regulation; you cannot return to work if it is not completed on time.

Please don't forget to enter your taxes, direct deposit, and check to make sure your mailing address is accurate in the employee self-service area.

If you have any questions about Form I-9 or the self-service forms, please contact Deanna Eirich at [email protected] or 828-262-6769 and she will gladly assist you.

Parking Options

There are four options for parking:

  1. If you reply to this email with your automobile license plate number, and make, model and color of your vehicle, you may park for free in any open spot in the Leon Levine Health Sciences Lot.
  2. You may take free public transportation on the AppalCart (hyperlink to AppalCart) to the Leon Levine Health Sciences Lot.
  3. If you have received your AppState login information, you can register for parking through AppalNet Self Serve (requires DUO 2-Factor Authentication).
  4. Ask your manager for a visitor parking pass for parking in any ungated lot and to escort you to the training room.

Your manager is copied on this email and invited to attend all or part of this training to learn more about the important role they play in supporting your onboarding process beyond the orientation session. In particular, they will take you to get your App State ID card on the second floor of the Campus Store, help you with parking allocations, and learn how to help you successfully complete the 90-day New Employee Onboarding course in AsULearn, App State’s learning management system.
I look forward to meeting you at orientation!
