Admin By Request allows end users by Request requires all Windows and Mac users on our campus to request administrator access for their currently logged-in user account. It will allow you to have temporary administrative rights to your workstation, or to just a single application/executable on demandor elevate their devices to Administrative (or Admin) status. This platform will replace Privileges for all Mac users.
Running as a standard user on your computer is a security best practice that helps protect our network from potential threats and reduces the risk of accidental changes or damage to your university-managed device. Administrative or Admin user level should be reserved for specific tasks such as software installs or uninstalls, updates, etc.
Who can use this service?
Information Technology Services. This software is installed on all university-managed devices.
