  1. Compose an email.
    1. Enter the phone number in the “to” field with @fax.appstate.edu (example: [email protected]).
    2. Include an email subject
      A test email being sent in Gmail, with the to field showing the fax number, a test subject line and body of the fax email draft.

      When entering the fax number, double-check it for accuracy before sending. If an incorrect number appears in the autocomplete suggestions, you can remove it by following the steps outlined in the troubleshooting section of this document.



    3. Important Notes 
      1. What is in the body of the email can be considered the cover page or you can use an App State-branded cover page (Google Drive: coming soon).
      2. What is in the subject will be added to the header and what is in the email will be added to the body of the fax.

  2. Attach the document(s) you wish to send. The order you attach is the order documents that will be sent.
    1. Acceptable file types include:
      1. PDF
      2. Word Doc
      3. Image files (jpeg, tiff, bitmap)

  3. Click "send," like you would an ordinary email, and your fax will be sent. (See example of a sent message below).
