New employees who start after October 1st will not receive a performance appraisal for that year because there is a 6 month window to be eligible for a score to be submitted to the state. Managers should, however, set written performance goals/expectations and provide documented feedback through other means such as a shared Google Doc, etc for the remainder of the year.
