To register a device on Ethernet
Some Gaming Devices and Smart TVs may connect to the Wireless Network using ASU-Visitor. For a more reliable connection, we highly recommend connecting any of these devices using an Ethernet Cable. The device must be registered on the ASU network in order to gain a secure Ethernet connection.
Steps for registering your Gaming Device or Smart TV:
Connect an Ethernet cable to the device and to the port in the wall
Locate the Wired/LAN MAC address for your device (Can be found in the System Settings or Network Settings)
Submit a support request for personally owned devices. Be sure to include the device MAC address and your residence hall in the support request Click Here to submit a support request.
To register a device on Wireless:
Connect your device to ASU-secure-setup, open a web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.) and navigate to https://wifi.appstate.edu.
Below the block A, you will see “Click here to continue”
Select the appropriate device type in the drop down menu if it is not already selected, and click Join Now.
A file should be downloaded, run this file.
When prompted, sign in with ASU username (not your email address) and password.
