Mathematica can be installed on a faculty, staff or student's personal computer.

Follow the directions below to download software from Wolfram.

1. Create an account:

  1. Go to user.wolfram.com, enter your email address, and click Continue.
  2. Select Appalachian State University, then sign in via the Appstate sign-in page.
  3. Select the appropriate download for your operating system.
  4. After installing and launching the Mathematica, select the SSO option to sign in and authenticate the software.

Support and Training:

The first three tutorials are excellent for new users and can be assigned to students as homework to learn Mathematica outside of class time.

Mathematica offers an interactive classroom experience that helps students explore and grasp concepts, plus gives faculty the tools they need to easily create supporting course materials, assignments, and presentations.
