If you elect to require Respondus Lockdown Browser, or Respondus Lockdown Browser with Respondus Monitor on a given AsULearn quiz, it is important that you do not also require the use of "Safe Exam Browser" on the quiz's Edit Settings page. Problems result when both these security measures are combined. |
LockDown Browser is a custom browser that students download and use. It locks down the testing environment, while a student takes a quiz in AsULearn. During the exam the students are unable to copy or print the exam for other students, access other applications or visit other websites.
Respondus Monitor builds on the power of LockDown Browser by using a student’s webcam to record video and audio of them while taking the exam. Using industry-leading video analytics, Monitor will flag any behaviors that may represent instances of cheating. Instructors can then view the recording and decide for themselves.
Please note: Respondus LockDown Browser and Monitor does not work on most mobile devices. Use of Chromebooks is not advised. Please see system requirements on the product website for more info.

Have students take an ungraded practice quiz that requires the use of LockDown Browser, before the graded quiz occurs. Leave the quiz available for the duration of the course, with unlimited attempts, so students can access it again, if they use a different computer. |
