Drafts are texts that are not in a final form and need to be revised and/or edited. Multiple drafts are often accepted as part of the development of students’ writing in process-writing classes. A first draft is often used to discover your ideas and direction, while later drafts provide opportunities for development. The final draft is generally turned in for a grade or other evaluation. Most writing-designated classes at Appalachian State are process-oriented and require multiple drafts of papers.
