Summary
Electronic media disposal and decommissioning services provide users with an effective and supported method for disposing of electronic media that may hold sensitive or personally identifying information. The Data Processing and Control area has resources available to permanently destroy magnetic media (hard drives, tapes, or disks) and ensure no data is left on the media before sending it to the surplus or the landfill. This process permanently destroys the media rendering it useless for additional use.
