Using the Divi Builder, you can create stunning and engaging pages for your audience. This guide will walk you through how to create a new page or edit an existing one using the Divi Builder on your University website.

Creating a New Page

  1. From the WordPress dashboard, go to the left-hand menu and click Pages > Add New, or from the Pages page, click the Add Page button at the top.
  2. Give your page a title (eg., “About Us” or “Student Resources”).
  3. Click the Use Divi Builder button to launch the visual editor.

Using the Divi Builder

Once the Divi Builder loads, you’ll be prompted to choose how to start. Click the Start Building button for the Build From Scratch option. To learn more about Divi's structure and how to use the Divi Builder, view our Using the Divi Builder documentation.

Adding and Editing Content

Divi includes several different modules for you to use when building pages. View the complete list of Divi modules available.

To Add New Content:

  1. Hover over a section, click the green "+" button, and choose a row type (eg. one column, two column, etc.).
  2. Hover over a row, click the gray “+” button, and choose a module type (eg. Text, Image, Button, etc.).
  3. Fill in the content and click the green checkmark to save.

To Edit Existing Content:

  1. Hover over the module you want to edit.
  2. Click the gear icon to open the settings.
  3. Make your changes and click the green checkmark.

Adding a Featured Image

The featured image for a page is the image that appears across the top of the page. To add a featured image:

  1. Within the Divi Builder, click the purple circle at the bottom of the screen to open the Divi menu.
  2. Click the purple gear icon to open the page settings.
  3. Click the Add Image button under the Featured Image section.
  4. Upload a new image or select one from the Media Library.
    1. Be sure to add alt text for accessibility.
    2. Use high-quality, horizontal images for best results. Since this image is stretched the full width of the screen and cropped on the top and bottom, make sure your desired focal point is in the vertically centered part of the image.

Saving and Publishing Your Page

  1. Click the purple circle at the bottom of the screen to open the Divi menu.
  2. Click Save Draft if you’re not ready to publish. Click Publish when your page is ready to go live.

Editing an Existing Page

  1. From the Dashboard, go to Pages > All Pages.
  2. Hover over the page you want to edit and click Edit With Divi.
  3. Make your changes using the visual builder.
  4. Click the Save button at the bottom when finished.

Deleting a Page

  1. From the Dashboard, go to Pages > All Pages.
  2. Hover over the page you want to delete and click Trash.
  3. Trashed items can be found in the Trash tab and will be kept for 30 days.
