In Drupal, Media includes Images, Documents, Google Calendar, and Video. Within the Create group in the sidebar, there are quick links to create Documents and Images.
How to Add a Document
Navigate to Create > Document
Add a name and a file

How to place a document within a Basic Page
Navigate to a page > Edit > Body > Insert Media
Click on the media icon from the editing toolbar for the Body field.
In the modal that pops up, select your media type from the vertical tabs on the left. You can choose a new file or an existing file from the media library presented.
Updating a File
Navigate to the Media List and click on the Edit button for any file.
Remove attached file
Upload a new file
After saving, verify that the name is correct.
