Proofreading is the final stage of the writing process. Unlike earlier drafting stages, which focus on ideas, content, and organization, proofreading is the final polishing of the text before it is submitted or published, and thus focuses on sentence-level concerns, such as grammar or usage errors, spelling mistakes, word choice, etc.
