Resources
The Applicant role is the first enrollment stage for potential students.
Bravura process
Data structure
- Applicants are Banner users who have applied to Appalachian State.
- No AD or LDAP record is created for new Applicants, therefore they do not have access to App State systems.
- Bravura creates a Google account for new Applicants. They are placed in the Inactive Student OU.
- It is possible for a current or former staff or faculty users to apply to App State and be placed into this role. In this case, they will still have their respective LDAP/AD records.
- A user with a primary Applicant role will be deactivated regardless of previous role assignments.
- A user with a primary, active role affiliation will be active regardless of an Applicant role assignment.
Activation
- Admissions creates applicant Banner accounts using their Slate software.
Departure
- Leaving the Applicant is accomplished either by
- failure of acceptance or
- an attendance invitation.
- Unaccepted Applicants will no longer appear in Bravura when Admissions withdraws their consideration.
- Withdrawn Applicants will leave behind their inactive Google account. IT Systems schedules purges to clear these accounts.
- Unlike other formerly active accounts, there is no concern for username reuse, making username retention unnecessary.
- Accepted Applicants will transition to the Admitted role.
